UTAGRO team at the All-Ukrainian Practical Forum "Pig Complex"

On April 20, the UTAGRO team worked at the All-Ukrainian Practical Forum "Pig Complex" organized by The Ukrainian Farmer magazine. The forum brought together experts in the field of pig breeding and veterinary medicine who are interested in implementing advanced methodologies to improve operational procedures, increase production efficiency and achieve stable results, even in an unstable economic situation.UTAGRO presented its own products, which can undoubtedly be called the key to success, high productivity and efficiency for every pig farmer if used correctly. During the event, Yuriy Tytychko, CEO, shared his experience and knowledge with the participants of the Pig Complex forum, making a presentation on the topic: "The multiplying effect of pre-starter". We share with you brief theses from the speech:
-44% of the reasons for weight gain during growing can be explained by different amounts of prestarter consumption.
- The higher the consumption of prestarter during the suckling period, the higher the productivity at the growing stage. 100 g more prestarter intake during the suckling period leads to 50 g more weight gain in the growing stage. 50 g. higher daily gain = 2 kg. additional weight at fattening = + 300 UAH extra per piglet
- The milk produced by sows is a limiting factor for the maximum productivity of piglets. Consumption of pre-starters during the suckling phase increases the amount of nutrients received by piglets, which compensates for their limited supply through milk.
- Consumption of pre-starters during the suckling phase is a training for greater amylase and protease production after weaning. More amylase and protease = easier digestion of starch and plant proteins.
More feed intake = better weight gain. Better weight gain = better feed conversion.
- Continuing to feed the pre-starter after weaning reduces the risk of a drop in performance. Less risk of performance decline = longer intestinal hairs = less risk of diarrhea. Less risk of diarrhea = less medication use.
- The use of a pre-starter leads to higher daily gains and higher feed intake during the first week after weaning.
- Investing in a pre-starter before and after weaning reduces the risks in growth and is cost-effective.
- The cost of the pre-starter is only 8.5% of the total cost of feed.
